Traveler 86
The
Traveler 86 is a conceptual design for a couple
to live aboard and operate without extra crew. This vessel’s beauty is
reminiscent of the old Gloucester fishing schooners that worked the
Grand Banks in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
These vessels were known for their speed and seaworthiness. The Traveler
86 aims for the same traits and is a true world cruiser. She has large living areas, a large machinery space, and the stowage space necessary to really live aboard a yacht comfortably. And the forepeak houses a laundry/workshop. The boat is designed to use hydraulic winches with captive reels and has roller furling or full batten sails. Combined with bow and stern thrusters, this is a “push button” sailing vessel easily handled by minimal crew. |

Explorer 52
The Explorer 52 is a hard chine displacement hulled trawler yacht
reminiscent of North Sea fishing trawlers. As shown, she is set to use
two small 88 hp engines to provide extremely economical long range
cruising for a couple and two guests. Rather than cramming every space
with staterooms, she has plenty of room to live aboard, as evidenced by
her full width galley. She has a steadying sail and a forward mast whose primary purpose is to launch the ship’s boat. But it can also be used to set a sail to get you home in a pinch. Designed to explore wherever you care to go, the Explorer 52 is a modern cruiser with old world style. |
